Britten’s War Requiem at Southbank Centre

Suzi trained and led an unauditioned group of local children who formed the Voicelab Children’s Choir for this performance of Britten’s epic War Requiem, conducted by Marin Alsop. This ambitious project won the 2015 Royal Philharmonic Society award for Learning and Participation.

On Remembrance Sunday 2014, Southbank Centre hosted a day-long event culminating in a performance of Benjamin Britten’s War Requiem in the Royal Festival Hall. Performers were drawn from the Royal Academy of Music alongside the National Youth Choirs of Great Britain together with our specially formed Voicelab Children’s Choir.
