Marin Alsop will conduct Southbank Centre‘s performance of this iconic symphony with the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain appearing alongside a 200-strong choir performing a new re-written English version of Schiller’s Ode To Joy that will embody Beethoven’s message of unity, fraternity and hope. Suzi will be leading the choir and preparing them for the performances.
Working alongside conductor Alice Farnham, director Thomas Guthrie and designer Ruth Paton, Suzi is Choral Director for The Grange Festival‘s first community opera – Monster in the Maze by Jonathan Dove, which will form part of the Summer 2020 Festival.
Suzi is vocal director of Garsington Opera’s Youth Company where she works closely with Karen Gillingham, artistic director. We are delighted to be co-commissioning, with Opera North, a new opera to be performed by our Youth Opera Company on Friday 31 July 2020.
